Well that was a fail!
As you can see, I was not successful with my plan to get up at 4:00 to exercise. Life gets busy, and self-care is important. Part of self-care is sleep, and when you have a teenager who is in sports, you have some late nights. So, a 4:00 wake-up call turns into 4:30 again. Since 4:30 is my wake-up call and has been since I started this blog, I pivoted.
My morning routine begins with a 4:30 a.m. alarm. I shower and basically get read for the day other than wearing my work clothes. I put on my workout clothes and head downstairs to the these sweet boys.
Rut and Finn keep me motivated. Once I am greeted with licks and tail wags we gear up for our morning walk at 5:00 a.m. Why 5:00 a.m.? Because walking these two who total about 200 pounds can be tricky when you weight less then they do. I put on their e-collars and turn on their lights and then I put on my Topward reflective vest . I grab my flash light, because picking up in the dark can be a bit tricky, and then we head out the door.
While we walk down the street I have started a new tradition. I say 10 things that I am grateful for as we continue on our walk. Six of my grateful's are different each day and the last four are always the same. This has helped me realize that there is always something to be grateful for even on the worst days.
Our morning walk is long, just shy of a mile. In that mile Rut pees about 5,000 times (total hyperbole but still how many times do we need to mark) and Finn is my regular pooper. I don't leave that sh** either. I am a pooper picker upper. I also like to protect our environment as best I can so I like to use ECO CLEAN poop bags. They are the best that I have found. I tried a different brand this last time and even my family commented that they weren't as good. Sorry, family I thought I ordered the same brand but apparently not, you could definitely tell the difference.
We finish our walk and our morning routine begins with feeding, watering, a carrot and then mommy gets to make her coffee and empty the dishwasher.
That is my morning. I am technically still exercising my taking these two cuties on their walk but I would like to do more. I have to give myself grace right now because the season of life that we are in is busy and I need to take care of me.
Well, I guess that is all for today. I promise I will be doing a better job of keeping my blog up. I enjoy sharing with you.
Have a GREAT day!
